I just noticed that you apear to be useing GimpShop, slightly differnt than the Gimp in the fact that the shortcuts are not the same! Best to follow the menupaths! :w:

As for image blending as you described I dont think that has been cover her but the basics would be to match brightness and contrast ect. till the images look close then you would need to feather the seams.

what do u mean? it looks the same...

i change the pref thing, but when i do CRLT-L it shows this http://img360.images...549/gimp9ps.png
then when i do CRLR-K it shows this

Try resetting your keyboard shortcuts in the GIMP preferences section. I've discussed this before in this thread. For some reason, some of the shortcuts get modified from the original setup.

GIMPshop is a form of GIMP that is based on Photoshop's interface. If you're using that version, you'll either need to find out what keystrokes are used for invert/delete and use those or modify them as I suggested above.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the boards.

Sounds to me like you're not Inverting the selection. Are you doing the control-I step before deleting?

seems to be a funny problem, or so i gather from reading other people's problems. I just go to the select menu and choose invert. Works every time lol

Thanks for this tutorial! Im a newbie so yeah, helped heaps. The only trouble I had was when I pressed Ctrl+K the background was turned white. I tried a few things and realised you had to actually make a layer, before you pasted the layer on top of the background! Anyway, if anyone else was having that trouble maybe that was it.

Hi, to all fellow GIMPTalk members. My name's Art and I've been using GIMP for about 3 months. I've found it to meet most of my needs and have had an absolute blast learning to use it.

Well, here's my first tutorial on blending images. Hope you like it. Sorry if it's too easy of a topic, but for what I want to create, it's essential!

Look forward to getting to know and learn from everyone.

Cheers.

When you said, deselect your image and make the upper layer something, I can't remember, do you mean set the opacity of the layer to lighter to make it fit in?

In the layer dialog box you see "layers mode" settings, set that to "value" but you can also experiment with opacity settings if you want and like the effect.

That's very helpful for me :) Thanks, I can't try it out now because my computer hates me and keeps freezing, but I'll try later if I can.
