I have an image that I turned into an animated .gif. Now I would like to take that image and make a brush that when used, glitters like the original image. Is this possible?

Here is the image I created using an existing brush....

Mz. Teri,

Notice that your animation depends on being multilayered. When you use a brush, it's only going to brush on to a single layer which will not result in an animation in and of itself.

You could make an animated brush that might paint random sized sparkles as you make your brush strokes.

There is a tutorial for making animated brushes. Please note these are animated brushes, but they will not in themselves create an animation. Animations generally result from multiple layered images or multiple frames.

First here are some of the glitter tutorials and discussions:

Thank you for the links and explanations. Im new to GIMP and would like to learn as much as possible about this program and what it can do. Im using GIMP 2.4.5.

A lot of the stuff in the tutorials are confusing to me still. Like adding fonts.
