There is a tut almost like this but it was done using imageready, so im doing this for those who dont have imageready.

You will need this program, its not big in size so it wont take long to download.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TBR2W9IX

you will also need to make a new folder, im going to call mine Water Reflect

ok first, you will need to experiment by your self to make it look better after we are done cause im only going to show you the basics about this.

1. what ever pic or sig your are going to use it has to be saved as JPG, so go ahead and save it as JPG.

2. Now open what ever you are going to use in Squirlz.( thats the program)
Image

3. Highlight where you want the reflection using this tool.( i think you have to Right click when you have selected what you want)
Image

4. mine after i highlighted.
Image

5. Now click on this button.
Image

6. Use these Settings( or you can experiment how you want it)
Image

7. After you have the settings just close that settings window i think, even though you might now see it its still there dont worry.
8. Now save it in the new folder that i said to make.( after you click SAVE another window will pop up click on JPG and then ok)
Image

9. Now open the first pic in gimp it should be in your new folder, there should be more than 10 pics in the new folder that you made cause thats where you saved it when you were in Squirlz.

10. After you open the first one, open the second one using the OPEN AS LAYER tool, File>Open as layer.( they should be numbered already)
Image

11. Now go to the Layers Dialogue and it should look like this.
Image

12. Now just Go to Filters>Animation>Optimize for gif.

13. save it as gif, and AS ANIMATION, and that should be it.

(if its moving too fast change the mms to 150, there is a script for that just look in the script section in this forum)

( just cause my result is gay that doesnt mean yours will, i just did mine really quick cause of time, so just play around with it and experiment and im sure it will come out good)

Final Result:
Image
(mine looks horrible cause of time :l: )

Ive seen very good results its just that you need to get good at it now that you know the basics.

Other Result.
Image

-thanks for reading my tut, what did ya think for my first?

IF you do it please post your results.

Yeah, wasn't a good idea to use a 3d animation on a 2d sprite banner :l:.

I'll try this later, effect looks really cool and if used correctly could result and major uberness..

ok i have a question in the 9nth and 10nth step, First of all, my pics go in this order pic00 then pic01 then all the way until pic19... do i open up the pick00 as the first one or pic00? also then when i open up the second one as a layer do i keep doing that to each all the way to pic19 or do i just do pic02 and they all should open as layers with it..... cuzz i did it like both ways and nothing worked...

yeah open up the very first one wich is 00 i think and keep opening them until you hit number 19. just use the open as layer tool to open every layer you have until 19, after that just optimize for gif and save as gif.

Maybe you guys can tell me where you get your renders?
And maybe a tutorial to make backgrounds? Other than grunge, and stuff like that? :w:

NP for the render, and in that program to make the reflection i think there is a button to feather the outline of the reflection. it would look better.

The program that you posted at the top of the page does not work. Is there any way you could fix that?

Sorry to bring this up, but i found this tutorial VERY good, but i'm stuck at Step 8 and 9. It says this:

----------------

''8. Now save it in the new folder that i said to make.( after you click SAVE another window will pop up click on JPG and then ok)

9. Now open the first pic in gimp it should be in your new folder, there should be more than 10 pics in the new folder that you made cause thats where you saved it when you were in Squirlz.''

-----------------

When i clik ''SAVE'', it opens a window, and in the window it doesn't say SAVE, it says ''OPEN'', just as if you are going to import something into it.

So how do i make it so it saves as 10 or more pictures??

Thanks alot

after you are all done with the reflection stuff on Squirlz, do this ANIMATE>FileSequence>SAVE, it will say open, just Look for the forlder and type what you want to name it and CLICK OPEN. Then a window will pop up called "Set File Type And Image Quality" and CLICK on JPG Then ok. Another window will pop up saving the animation and when thats done the layers will be in that folder and continue from there. Hope it helped if not PM Me
