Blending .:2:. Un-Blending

First Ill assume you've read Fencepost's Tutorial on blending here

http://www.gimptalk.com/topic.php?a=v&t=106&f=8

if you haven't I would suggest you try it, cause I'll be refering to steps from there.

1. Get your background ready! This is what I have...

Image

2. Prepare the image you're going to blend on separate layer! This is my image...

Image

3. Once your image is ready you need to have 2 exactly identical layers, duplicate the image layer like I have here...

Image

4. Blend the first image layer just like in fencepost's Tutorial and move on to the second copy layer...

5. Make a selection of what you want to stand out with the lasso tool and feather it to your preference. In my example I

selected the face.

6. From here I Flatten Image and add a border, add text, whatever I want and when done save...

Mine is pretty basic but how did you do? :l:

Good job Blur11!

Im still playing with this and think the results will get smother after some time playing with it!

*To get the soldger to B&W it was just one layer above the B&W background of him set to value. The face a copy of the soldger @ normal mode.*
