Howdy. Today you will learn how to make a stock sig like this:

I recommend using a nature pic, but it can work with other pictures, too.

1. Open up a new image; size doesn't matter, but I'm using 400 x 150.

2. Now open up your stock as a new layer. Position it, then go to Image > Flatten Image.

3. Go to Layer > Duplicate Layer.

4. With the duplicate layer selected, double-click on the foreground color box and select a
color that will give a nice tint to your stock. Leave the background color to white.

5. Go to Filters > Colors > Map > Gradient Map.

6. Set this duplicate layer to Color and 40 Opacity.

Skip this step if you want:
7. Now select your original stock layer. Go to Filters > Enhance > Sharpen. Set it to
whatever you want, but it "should look crisp and not noisy."

8. Now make a new transparent layer and drag it to the top. Make your foreground color
white (hit the D key, then the X key). Then double-click on the Gradient tool and make
sure the settings are like this:

9. Now, with the new layer selected, do the gradient where you want the light. Like this:

10. Set that layer to Screen at 55 Opacity.

Text and border can be done anyway you choose. I did a 1 px border using a dark color,
but not black, from the stock. The font I used for my text was BernhardFashion BT, size 15. I made the box under it by selecting a rectangle from the original stock layer, copying & pasting it into a new layer right above the stock layer, then gaussian blurring it by 24.

Voila! Your sig is done.
