After a while i try to do a short animation with gap 2.4 on windows but i run on a lot of problems,

well basically 1 problem but commune to many gap features

Basically i have 256 frames but if i try to use frame modify ,playback,(that from gap, the playback in filter/animation playback works correctly) they all see maximum 10 frames, and only works on that 10 frames.

then "playback do not display a correct preview of several of that 10 frame ( seems as it zoom in some angles .)

I try again with a duplicate but result was even more frustrating only 1 frame was seen , command to input higher number were grey out

see screenshoot
Image

the xcf is over 300MB so upload it is fdifficult

"filter all layer work correctly, even if quite slowly for all the layers, frame modify instead also see only 1 frame

gimp 2.4 windows xp

PhotoComix,

It looks like you are trying to playback a multilayered image. Am I understanding that correctly? That will not work in the GAP playback plug-in because the Video | Playback plug-in plays separate multiple image frames, not multiple layers in a single image. If I am misunderstanding, maybe you can provide more information, but it appears that the "frames" that I see are each a layer in a single image and that is part of a screenshot of your Layer Dialog window. In that case, the only Playback that will work for that file is under the Filters | Animation menu.

Indeed, the Video | Playback plug-in is showing correct information, since it sees the image as a separate frame, no matter how many layers that image has so in your case, you have one image frame with multiple layers.

You could run Video | Split Image to Frames and then after getting to the First Frame of that sequence play it back using the GAP Playback plug-in. And if you try that image sequence in the Filters | Animation | Playback plug-in, it will not play anything there. Each one of those playback plug-ins functions differently.
