[*]Create a new 450x150 document. Fill it with black
[*]Start to brush your black layer, use alot of brushes, but dont brush TOOO much. Add in your render as a new layer and set it where it needs to be
Image
[*]You can zoom in by 200% if you wish for this step. Using the Rectangle Select tool, select a 1 px line of your renders, hopefully full of color. Make sure theres no transparent gaps in the way.
Image
[*]Go to Edit->Copy. Then make a new transparent layer and Edit->Paste you 1px line. DO NOT ANCHOR IT YET! Be sure that your Pasted Layer is selected and go to Layers->Scale Layer. Click the chain to get rid of the aspect ratio, and set the Width to 450. Leave the Height alone and hit OK. Reposition your Pixel stretch layer so its straight in the canvas and achor it. Put the Pixel Stretch layer underneath the render layer and above your Brush layer, and set it to Overlay
Image
[*]This Step is Optional. Duplicate your Render layer. On the bottom render, go to Blur->Motion Blur. using Linear, set the Length to 35 and the Angle to 0. You can then duplicate it atleast 2 more times if you wish.
[*]Go to Edit->Copy Visible. Make a new transparent layer and paste and anchor it. On the new layer, go to Blur- Gaussian Blur. Set it to 4:4 and hit ok. Set that layer to Overlay
Image
[*]This Step is Optional also. Go to Layer->Colors and Desaturate the Render and Pixel Stretch Layers
[*]Create a new transparent layer, set it inbetween the Render layer and the Gaussian Blur layer. Take your brushes and brush the transparent layer, but be sure you dont cover up all of the first brushing and pixelstretch. And be sure that you dont brush over your render TOO much, if at all.
[*]Flatten your image and go to Filters->Enhance->Sharpen. Set it to around 50.
Image

And your done! Add your text and boarder if your wish to spuce things up.

I got to the part just before I brush between the blur, and the render, but I don't know what brushes to use. I don't have the best brushes for this.

Nice Tut.
Gimp successfully crashed at step four every time(five time) so. I substituted a part of the pixel stretch tutorial at that point. This sig is the one I mess up on. I liked how the render and practical affects came out. So started back at step 3 from my save, fixed it to the point where the render and lighting were identical with the proper pixel background. Then gimp crashed. So lost does this only happen to me.
Thank for the tut it might not have worked out for me but it is inspirational and a good tut.

I'd found out that this doesn't work very well with renders of many colours, but a colour balance layer set to 'Hue' works wonders.

This tut is so incredibly awesome! Mjoed1021 is my username on another forum (RuneHQ). This is my newest sig for that site. This is so awesome, and so easy to do! Thanks so much for the help, I've always liked pixel stretches but never understood how to make them.
