Hey I'm gonna show you how to do Molten Lava text....

Step 1: Open up a blank canvas (any size will do) I used the defalut size.
Step 2: Fill the new canvas background with black.
Step 3: Type your text, select the size (anything over 60 is good), and select the font(I used Roostheavy) The color of the text is: White
Step 4: Rotate your text 90* ClockWise (CW)
Step 5: Select WIND from the Filters menu...Check Blast for Style/Right Side/and Edge Affected: Leading
Threshold: 15
Strength: 10
Step 6: Rotate your text 90* CounterClock Wise (CCW)
Step 7: Select Bump Map from Filters menu, adjust the sliders and drop menus to the picture you see here...Image
Step 8: Add New layer (Transparent)/ Mode set to: Normal
Step 9: Select your text layer from the layers menu
Step 10: Open up "Glowing Hot" /under Script-Fu menu
Effect Size: 95
Background Color: Red
Step 11: Open up: "Levels" Color/Levels
Set Input levels at: (ORDER: left to right) 100/ 0.20/ 246
Leave the output levels alone.
Step 12: Merge ALL layers down.

and your done! The finished Molten Lava text should look something like this:

Leave the output levels alone

That actually looks pretty sweet. The lava kinda makes it look bulky, but yours looks awesome.

Is it possible to change the color of the text for the final result, instead of it just being bright yellow and whatnot?

Im trying to make a sig with this, but I want the glowing letters to be blue. I tried making the text blue intially, and then following the tut, but no dice.

Thanks for any help.

First post here . . . but in hopes of answering By Zero Six Three's question:
Quote:

Right after step 2 add a new transparent layer, then continue on to step 3 (adding text).
Hope this helps.
