Ok I've downloaded a brush set and placed it in the correct folder where they need to be put. Yet when I open up GIMP the brushes don't show. I know I had the same problem with the fonts but I managed to fix that. Just the brushes won't cooperate with me now. >.< I have no idea why it won't load the brush set.

Presumably you followed the relevant part of the FAQ and it still doesn't work?
If that doesn't work, what exactly did you download?

Yes I unzipped the file into the correct folder for the GIMP brushes and closed and re-opened GIMP a couple of times to see if it would load finally but it never did. I downloaded a brush set from deviantart.com. I read how the how-to tutorial for the brush on here and it seems like the way to do fonts, which I did for the brushes and none show up at all.

Can you post the link to the brush set that's giving you trouble? That'd allow someone else can see whether it works or not.

This is the brush set I downloaded.

I also downloaded a fire brush set a long while ago and they don't show up in GIMP either. I can view them when I look in the folder on the comp just fine on both sets. The only thing I can think of is that I need to download an update thing like I had to, to get the fonts to work.

have you converted them to be used in Gimp or are you just putting them in as they are? If so, then they wont work. You need to convert them to .gbr format

If you are using windows, follow these steps:

1. Download the script to desktop (Or copy and paste it into a notepad document and save it)

2. right click mouse on the file and click "Properties"

3. Where the name of the file is, add .scm to the end of the filename like this:

Then place it in your scripts folder and restart GIMP
