EDIT: damn, why the fux is the subject 'frodo' when I named it 'frodo's full sig tutorial'????
Okay, welcome to my tut, We will be making this:
1. The godzilla render can be found at
this link
The first step is to open a new canvas, I used 420x160.
2. Open your render in a new layer. scale it and move it around so that it looks somewhat like this:
3. Fill in the background with black.
4. Make a new layer called 'sparks' Using the default spark brush, make a rough outline of your render. Something like this:
5. Color your sparks a light blueish color, using Filters>Colors>Colorize.
You should have something like this:
6. Duplicate the sparks layer and place it overtop of your render.
7. Use Filters>Distorts>iWarp and brush the duplicated sparks layer around a bit, so that not very much is overlaping your render.
8. Now for some clipping masks. Make a new transparent layer, and name it clipping masks. Duplicate it so you have two. Make sure your copy is above your original layer.
Now copy your render, and paste it a few times into the original clipping mask layer. Four or Five times should be good.
Goto Filters>Distorts>iWarp, and swirl and move your clipping mask layer around.
On the copied layer, make some dots in the shape of your render, dots, circles, or even the vine brush. You may want to make your original clipping mask layer transparent by clicking the eye next to it. That way, you can see your render and know what shape to draw your clipping mask into.
9. In the layers window, right click on your duplicated clipping mask layer, and click alpha to selection.
Select your original clipping mask layer. In the canvas window, goto Select>Invert. Even though you can't tell, something did happen. Now goto Edit>Clear. Then goto Select>None. In the layers window, delete the duplicated clipping mask layer. Your canvas should look something like this:
The layers window should look like this:
10. Let's make our background better. First duplicate your 'sparks' layer, and merge it with the background. (right click>merge down)
iWarp time.
11. Do Filters>Noise>Pick with these values:
Result:
12. Goto Filters>Artistic>Cubism witht the following values:
Result
13. Goto Filters>Colors>Filter Pack and mess around with it. There are no real values to give, just mess around and try to get something like this:
14. Then goto Filters>Artistic>Cubism.
Goto Filters>Distorts>Video and keep the default values.
Goto Filters>Map>Map Object. Use these values:
Now this is something like what you should get:
You may want to adjust the contrast in Layer>Colors>Brightness and Contrast.
15. Goto your layers window, and make a new layer called 'color cover'
Fill it with a dark blue.
Now set the layer mode to overlay.
Add some text, and you're done!
