I read a photoshop tut a while ago about this when i just began using Gimp so i couldn't get it really, but now i wanted to try it again but i couldn't find it, so i did some things i remembered and some things i made up myself :w:

yeah ur might be right but in space u see more stars then on earth cuz of all the light ( i think :w:)

I did a simmilar thing a while back, just messing around with layers, I bump mapped it and got a huge black line goingdown the side of my sphere:'( but ah well.

WOW. Beautiful. I love good space images. A tut would be amazing. I attempted a planet not too long ago and really like your choice of blue haze instead of white. Very nice.
