EDIT, Added a part
Its rated intermediate - advancded cuz i wont be explaining everything, you should know how gimp works

Every time you put something over the renders face, take out the lasso and go around the face then press ctrl+x or cut, itll make it look better

I found a ps tut and kinda followed it but changed many parts to my liking

Alright this is my first tut and i will be showing you how to make the folowing sig

Image

1. Start off with a black bg and take a soft brush and color a white circle with the opacity at 30%
Image

2.Take out your render, duplicate it 3 times, hide the top 3 and place it where you like and smudge, mode normal100%
Image

3.Unhide the second one and smudge again, and set the mode to dodge at 100%
Image

4.Unhide the next one and smudge again, leave it normal
Image

5.Unhide the last one and smudge again and set to dodge 100%
Image

6.Use first C4d that i included and rotate it straight up vertically, on dodge 100%
Image

7.Take the next c4d and find a good spot for it and put it to dodge at 100%
Image

8.Now take out your render and place it on top the smudge layers
Image

9.Take the flamyc4d and add it about 4-5 times at different spots and set to dodge 100%
Image

10.Take out the first c4d again and rotate it to the direction of your render and set to dodge at about 32%
Image

11.Now copy visible layers, paste, then click new layer to paste the layer (Vo1tures trick :p) and set to screen
Image

12.Do the copy visible layers and paste and set layer to multiply
Image

13.Do the same again but set to overlay
Image

14.Take out the second c4d again and find a good spot then set to dodge
Image

15.Copy visible layers trick again and set to multiply
Image

16.Take te flamyc4d and put it on about 4 times, two of them on soft light 80 % and 2 grainmerge 47%
Image

17.Copy visible layers trick again, and i just colored a bit of white at the bottom left and added a scan line
Image

18.Text, do what you want but i made a square, rounded the corners, filled in with white 35%opacity, used path tool, stroke path for letter
Image

19.Border, make a new layer, select all, then stroke selection at about 1-2 pixels, in black
Image

20.EDIT: ADDED PART
alright i added this part to add something to the left side. i copied visible layers and pasted then moved over to the left side and put it to addition at 9% then took out a c4d, that was bubbly, duplicated it twice and set the first to dodge 100%, second to screen 100% and the third to dodge at 69% . i think it looks a little better now
Image

C4Ds i used, not mine, didnt make them

Nice tut, I missed a few bits out, but it helped a lot! Here's my result (render tis Lyn Z from Mindless Self Indulgence):

Image

It's a bit dark, though ... don't think it works quite as effectively with red!

Thanks so much mate, the tut is great and in so much depth, I really needed something like this. This tut has taken me from being crap at C4Ds to OK at them, here's what I mean.

Last C4D sig

Vortex, I would suggest colorizing the c4ds to match your render.

It is a nice tut i will post my result soon and i put advanced because you did not explain to much of the tut.but other than that it is pretty you need some basic C4D skills to do this tut.

Great tut. The only thing that I don't like about it is how bright it is. It hurts my eyes.

I skipped a few steps but I think it turned out alright.

I skipped steps on both of them.

Um for this particular one i used some brushes that were posted on here by Gunther, somewhere on this site and some kind of oily type of brush, ill try to find them and post them but i forget where i got them, you can also use the default brush galaxy big, i think its called, its not a bad one either

Here are some, this is the topic and there are two you can download
