New to the gimp world :l: WHERE SHOULD I INSTALL THE BRUSHES ?

I downloaded...
It gave me a crapload of ABR brushes and not GBR brushes...

I donwloaded this but how where do i pout the abr files? and how do i change them too gimp

I donwload the file, but it asks me what to open the file with. I have XP Proffesional and i am usually great at these things but i need help!

Is not a zip? 7zip will open it (but i suppose even windows could unzip it)

If you mean what to do with files inside they must go ([b]not [/b]inside their folder) in the gimp BRUSH folder as explained in the FAQ (link for FAQ is on top of any page)

how do you get the brushes of the top link it wouldn't work came as one big file

The server http://www.upload-globe.com returns a '403 Forbidden' error while trying to download this file. In addition the index page for the domain also returns a 403 error... The converted files do not appear to be accessible.
Does this link require some sort of validation to access it?

how do i upload them into my gimp program i downloaded it now im stuck plz help

All ARB brushes (so far as I could tell at a glance)... BUT then I do some catch up reading and the latest GIMP is supposed to load ARB brushes but only version 1.0... So I set them up anyway. I'm gonna wait to see if this is just a little bug in GIMP, or if they gave it indigestion because they were later version brushes.

maybe is better contact saurus 1 ...hoping that he has still the files to upload somewhere.

Of course if anybody else has that files he can upload somewhere as http://www.box.net (to avoid files went deleted after a while is needed free registration...i suppose that was the problem with the other Host: no registration was done so files after 30dd went deleted)

I'd note that these do slow down the GIMP bootup on Windows (dunno about Linux and the like) but about 10-20 seconds.

for sure 1100 brush will slower loading...a brush manager is available only for linux

I changed the extensions to .gbr And it shows the Gimp image, showing its valid. II put them in the brushes folder, and it gets an error. "Unknown Version 131072"

I'm clueless on what to do.

aaaahh...they were abr? that is for PS...you can try the other links to see if that lead to the gbr.

If not then they need to be converted (..again...it was already done so if somebody has the Gimp version could please upload them somewhere and post the link)
