2 quite different project but with 2 points in commune ,both are focused on painting and both badly needly a English translation

The first Gimp Paint Studio is presented here, http://www.jesusda.com/blog/index.php?i ... =1#c001597

Image

but how to HEREhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=QP7CFH35 is in Spanish and more on PDF ( Automatic Translator do not accept PDF  )

Hopefully here there is some Spanish reader that may help ?

PS Griatch you are quoted in the PDF i believe for the rake brushes.

###################################################################################

Gimp Painter instead is a Japonese proposal here the author page http://www24.atwiki.jp/sigetch_2007/pages/19.html and ..well here the project page
http://sourceforge.jp/projects/gimp-painter/ but are mostly ideogram..

To figure out more much better this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIg8Omew9Ps

on the download page seems to be even a windows version ..

 anyone may translate from japonise here ?

EDIT: The documentation for GIMP Paint Studio has been translated into English. More information about this is available by visiting this thread.

I may well translate the blog page is the PDF doc that i cannot translate, seem automatic translator refuse to work with PDF

well for me is not too clear even if my native language is very close to spanish.
Obviously the problem is not how to use or install some cool brush ....To be not clear for , without translation ,is the part that, if i understand well mainly deal with tool's presets

we should find a solution to evidence links posted in the messages only way to detect them now seems pass the mouse over the text
anyway thank MNM i think that link may solve :)

Edit even if Italian is very close to Spanish Google translation result is basically gibberish, but luckily give a sufficient hint on how install(again problem was no install brush but edit a couple of configuration files )
Not sure if English translation will offer same hints...
I'm now busy fighting to install a cheap graphic tablet (from Trust if was a Wacom would be easier ) well once done that i will let you know...

Hi, my name is Ramon Miranda.

Well, my english is not very good to explain exactly what GPS does or not, like Spanish pdf does. Usually there is not too much information of how to paint in Gimp like photoshop or painter. So i decided to do allthis presets and reorganice like GPS, an open concept.

i´m working very hard to get a nice English translation with all the advices and explanation that spanish PDF has. So be patient pls because is not as easy as seems to find a good translator. and coordinate together to get the right message.

I ´m working in licensing too. so this will be a good year to us gimp users. The idea was to launch GPS in the spanish community and see what happen. OMG the response is huge .So thanks a lot to all this people that is spreading this beautifull concept. SHARING. GPS is about that SHARING knlodgement and sharing tools and othe things. That make us bigger than privative software. Community make us stronger. So this is my little support to the community.

Best regards to all.

Hi all, i´m making a new version of GPS more easy to manage. With a few more presets . The project will be ended at version 1.0 when i achieve to make the tutorial that i want to . At this moment, there is an English version of the pdf but it is not very acurate. Well, is a bit...no, it is very hard for translators translate all this artistic terms. terminology. hope they do a good job.
I ordered the tools names .this make easier to control the brushes , who is who or what they are used for.
Also ,recently i discover Gimp painter and begin to develope presets for gimppainter. WOw they are impressive becouse we have at last color bleeding. nice uh? these are some screenshots. of actual GPS and the new terminology. With mnemonics terms. hope it will be helpful. i have to say that i have deleted a few brushes that are very "unique" and no for common tasks. Maybe i could prepare a selection of this kind of brushes.

Brushes Window. Brushes now are ordered. more intuitive
Image

Brushes Names with mnemonics rules. easier to understand what does each brush.
Image

Hope you like it.List of mnemonics rules soon

Anyway you may also post here, except that if is in PDF format that will be complex ,the forum as far i know can't display PDF but only text+images (image url included between "img" tags )

Thank a lot for the translation

nice news, did you installed Gimppainter on windows ?
If so i will like some tips i had problems, basically or i get the real thing but with Japonise ideogram for menus, or english menu but then seems identical to the standard gimp, if not for some added plugin

But i try only once, maybe i overlook something obvious

Thank , i am impatient to try the new version

BTW do not be ashame to post link for your sites or blogs, when are related to pages dedicated to GIMP ,including gimp hacks or resources pack.
Is true that 1 on the forum rules forbid the promotion of personal sides, BUT in case as this that is overruled by our will to promote gimp related resources

Well, I found it to be easier to put it in my blog, as I like the format of the blog editting way better and I think if anyone goes there I'll be able to advertise GIMP Paint Studio. Anyways, I found some errors and stuff in my translation, so I fixed up a few things, here's the link to the blog post:

Hmmm what version dou you have?I´m running the 20090321( in the about gimp window)patch in a win xp PC. Download the latest one if you are running a lower verssion.
What OS do you use? if linux please contact with other user of gimppainter or e-mail "yamma-ma" the creator of gimppainter. He don´t understand very well english (he uses a traductor machine) but it is a nice guy and maybe he can help you his e-mail: yamma-ma@users.sourceforge.jp
I think it is xtrange because i see all correct since earlier versions. maybe if you send me the patch i could test
it for you right?
Do you use the mixbrush and where exactly appears the japanesse text?

i hope this could help you

any suggestion ? more ? just kidding! XDDD or you are not using Gimpainter on Windows?
Yes i use GimpPainter in WinXP tell me what you think about this powerfull patch.

Hi two days ago I tried to install
gimp-painter--2.6.6_090321-1_win32_bin_pentium4 and
gimp-painter--2.6.6_090321-2_win32_starter
I used the translated PDF and could follow it reasonably well in most places.
I installed over the original Gimp 2.6.6

Brushes, Themes, Toolspresets and Palettes installed Ok , but I could not make it work (Blending of brushes)
In fact I eventually had to delete all Gimp and start again from scratch.I reinstalled 2.6.5 as 2.6.6 GEGL crashes Gimp. I reinstalled the Gimp painter brushes, Toolpresets and the Human Flesh tint Palettes which are very nice, as are the brushes.

The Shock talks about a powerful patch. Does he refer to some patch outside of the above Installs? or is there an imbedded patch in the Installs? I am not clear on what he is referring to.

I then off course had to install GAP, Greycstoration , mathmap and various filters and scripts. So I have a nice new installation of Gimp again.

I will now wait until the install is documented in detail so I can fully understand it. I do hope that it will be soon as I am very impressed with the outcomes as shown by The Shock.

Hey guys,

I got GIMP for painters working on xp. The trick is that it doesn't modify your current GIMP install ( at least the gimp-painter--2.6.6_090321-2_win32_starter.exe doesn't ), it has GIMP 2.6.6 included. So what you do is unzip it into it's own directory and run it from the run_gimp.wsf. The GIMP 2.6.6 install that the script runs is located at Directory-you-unzipped-to/home/.gimp-2.6 so I'ld imagine that scripts and such would have to be installed in that version specifically.

Hopefully this is helpful information.
