Heya!
This is my fist Post/Signature tuturial.
I hope this Style hasn't been posted yet, if there is ANY tuturial that is exactly the same as this one please destroy or close this post

.
what we wil be making is something that wil look like this :

I wil be explaining the background, the render, and the text in steps.
Background:
Step one :The first thing you got to do it Making a new sign with the measurements of Width 420 and Length 120
Select the gradient tool.
set the Mode to Difference and the shape to Bi-linear.
If you draw a line now, it wil form a pilar-shape, now go make a lot of those pilars but now the pilars need to be VERY small, its best if each line you draw is ¼ of a centimeter, making the total pilar ½ of a centimeter, make them in all directions, Diagonally vertical and horizontal , and then you should get something like this:
Step two:When you are finished duplicate the layer.
Click the newest layer.
Then click "filters>Edge-Detect>Edge".
There is a bar named "amount"
make the amount 1 like here :

then click Ok.
Set that layer's Modus to "overlay"
Then right click that layer and click "merge down" this wil make the two layers one again.
Step three:From now the tuturial wil get a little harder, but it should still be easy if you got a little experience with Gimp
Now duplicate the Background layer,Select that new layer and do this:
go to Filter>Artistic>GIMPressionist.
Scroll down in that layer and click "Furry" Click the "apply" button and then click the "Ok" button
then click okey. the layer should look something like this now :

Now set This layer's modus to "Hue"
Step four:Duplicate the Background layer again (the bottom layer)
and Select that layer again, now go to Filter>Noise>Pick.
Set both bars to 100 so it looks like this :

Click the "Ok" button.
We aren't finished yet!
Now Click Filters>Blur>Motion blur.
You will see two slider bars, set the above one to 15 .
and the bottom one to 307.
Your setting should look like this :

Click the "Ok"button
Step five:The background is almost finished!
Just the last step!
Now Duplicate the bottom layer again (background layer) and select it.
Then go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur.
The slider bar should be on 10 like this :

Click the "Ok" button again and Set the Layer mode to "Darken only"
Then Right click the Top layer in the Layers, Channels, Paths, and Undo window and click Merge down, then go to the Next layer and merge down until you got 1 layer, this will help if you Colorize in the future. Congratiulations! you should have a background now that looks like this(or at least a little like it/close to it):
Note:If you want you CAN already colorize the background. Though i prefer
to do this AFTER i inserted the render, so the steps for colorizing wil be included by the Render steps, If you want to do this right now you can do this by right clicking on your layer (you should have just ONE now and clicking in the dropdown menu Color>Colorize. play with the Hue,Lightness and Saturnisation untill you get your desired color.
The Render:
Step one:The render is a little harder i suppose, though it takes a lot less time.
First you got to Get your render.
A nice site for getting renders in
http://www.Planetrenders.netif you look around at this site you should find something nice
First make a new Transpirant layer, with the same size as your base layer.
then you choose a Render and open it, Click on the Color Select tool (or press Shift+O) or on the Magic wand (or press U)
then Click on the black part (or white.) of the Render background, then go to Select>Invert and copy the render.

Then go to the window of your background , Click the newest layer (the top one) and paste your Render on it.
If you don't like the size or if you want it to look to the Left side instead of the right side (Flip it ) you go to.
Layer>Transform>Flip horizontally (for turning) or Layer>Scale layer (for Re-sizing)
Drag your render to wherever you want.
Step two:Duplicate that layer and select the newest layer, then click Filters>Blur>Gaussian blur.
The settings should still be 10 as you used for the background layer, if not set the settings to 10 and click the "Ok" Button.
Set this layer to overlay.
Step three:Duplicate the First render layer (the one without blur) and duplicate it, move the duplicated layer Up and go Filter>Noise>Pick and , the bars should already be on 100 and 100 if not set them to 100 and 100.
Click the "Ok" button again.
Then go to Filter>Blur>Motion blur.
The bars should be at direction 307 and lengt 15 already, if not, set them to 307 and 15.
Click the "Ok" Button again.
Leave this layer alone for a now.
Step Four:Now you should be Ready to colorize, click on the Background layer (bottom one) and right click on it. in the dropdown menu select Colors>Colorize. play around with the Hue Saturation and Lightness until you get the desired color. (Tip: choose a color that looks good with your render so it becomes a nice whole).
Step Five:
Ok now you have colorized you should do the Final step on the Render.
Do you remember the Newest layer you made , the one that you just lleft there for a second? its not yet finished , the only thing you stil got to do it Set the layer mode to Burn (note : i used burn, but Hue Overlay, hard light , soft light , Etc. should work as well)
And you render is finished! mine finished like this :

But it should look different if you used other render/modes at end.
Now For the final touch.
The Text!:
Step one :Select a font of you liking (there should be a lot of nice fonts here:
http://www.1001Freefonts.comMake a new layer of the same length and width as the rest of your layers ( a TRANSPIRANT layer)
Make the text color WHITE and click on your new layer , a window should popup.
In that window type the text you want. then set the size of the text as your likings.
Now right click the top layer (it should be the layer with the text) and click Merge down.
The layer with the text should now be on your new Transpirant layer, on that layer is now NOTHING exept for your text.
You should now have text.
Step Two :But as this text is boring and lame we are going to put a effect on it!.
First select alpha (By right clicking on your text layer in the layers, channels , Etc. window and then clicking Alpha to selection)
This should select the text .
now make your Foreground color BLACK
then go to Edit>Stroke Selection and put the Line width to 1,0 px like here:

and click the "Stroke" button.
this should give your text a 1px black border
Step three:Now you need to click Select>Select all
and then click Alpha selection again.
this should select the text AND the border.
then go to Filters>Blur>Gaussian blur and make shure its still 10px.
if not set it to 10px × 10 px and click the "Ok" button.
Then right click the text layer and go Colors>Colorize.
now set it to the color of your likings (Tip:should match the background color)
Step Four:Duplicate that layer and select that newest layer.
Set this layer to Overlay (note: Other settings may work as well)
And you are finished!
The outcome should be a little like this :

If you want a border go Select all: and click Edit>Stroke selection and set to 1 px, or 2 and click the "Stroke button"
Note : do NOT rip. if i see you ripping this i wil be MAD
