![]() Assassin's Creed Result ![]() Introduction Hello, heres a tut on one of my most resent sigs, I'll try to make it begginer friendly so everyone can try it Fractals/c4ds http://photocopier.deviantart.com/art/r ... e-61759499 Tutorial 1. open a canvas, mine was 400x113 2. put in a stock photo, something kind of dark, i chose a forest ![]() 3. duplicate this stock so you have it 5 times. you can duplicate it in the layers dialogue. dialogues>layers 4. on the second from the bottum, do a filters>blur>gaussin blur at settings=5. set this layer to softlight 68% opacity ![]() 5. on the next layer up, do another gaussin blur (same settings) and set it to screen 76% opacity. ![]() 6. on the next layer up do another gaussin blur (same settings) set it to screen 100% opacity ![]() 7. on the top layer go filters>blur>pixelize. settings=6. next go filters>enhance>sharpen settings=90. set this layer to screen 17% opacity ![]() 8. now bring in your render and place it where you wish. duplicate this so you have 10 copies of it. hide all of them except for the buttom one-by clicking the far left box in layers dialogue. 9. select the bottom render layer. go filters>blur>motion blur. make it a 45 degree angle and the length 95. set this to overlay 100% opacity ![]() 10. unhide the next layer up and select it. layer>scale layer and make it a little bit bigger. set it to colour 30% opacity ![]() 11. unhide the next layer up, and scale it fairly larger. think of it as your renders giant shadow. set it to dodge 27% opacity ![]() 12. unhide the next layer up and select it. do a filters>noise>pick both settings to 100 and then click randomize. set this to overlay 70-100% opacity ![]() 13. unhide the next layer. do a filter>blur> gaussin blur settings 5-10. lower its opacity to 60% 14. unhide the next layer up. this is now your main render layer. leave it alone as we are now going to do some stuff on top of it ![]() 15. unhide and select the next layer up. right click it and chose alph to selection. then go select>shrink at about 2-6 depending on how much glow you want. then press ctrl+I to invert selection 16. go filters> artistic>cubism tile size= 3.4 tile saturation 2.5 select> none. erase the effects at the bottum with the eraser tool and then set this layer to overlay ![]() 17. repeat steps 15-16 on the next layer up 18. now on next layer up (yes you must be tired of reading that now) do another alpha to selection. select>shrink =2-4. select>none 19. now go filters> blur>gaussin blur settings 2-5. then go colours>colourize and make the blur close to the colour scheme that seems to be going on. mine was a blue-ish colour. ![]() 20. now put in a c4d of your choice (mine is supplied at the top) and erase bits that dont look good. make this layer at the very top lighten only 100% opacity. I only did a little bit at first: ![]() 21. then i added it again lighten only 100% opacity ![]() 22. then i added it again erasing parts all throughout that i didn't like. ![]() 23. add a new transparent layer and set it at the top. select the paintbrush tool and brush the shoulders of your render with white while using the circle fuzzy brush. ![]() 24. set this layer to softlight then duplicate it once. 25. next i added another new transparent layer and selected the gradient tool(blend tool) make it FG-transparent and make your FG white. make the shape radial. next i drew a small gradient for a light source coming up from the bottom of the render. I set this layer to overlay 100% opacity. 26. next i added a couple purple fractals (it matched my scheme) and set them to lighten only ![]() 27. now its time for some some colour touch ups. go edit>copy visible edit> paste. right click it>new layer. make sure all these are at the top. now go colours> brightness contrasts settings at brightness=about 40 contrast=about 35 28.do another copy visible layer then choose the gradient/blend tool. make the shape linear and change the gradient to french flag smooth. go colours> map>gradient map. set this layer to overlay 46% opacity ![]() 29. do another copy visible layer and change the gradient to incandescent. colours>map>gradient map set this layer to overlay 26% opacity 30. do another copy visible layer and change the gradient to mexican flag smooth colours>map?gradient map set this layer to hue 32% opacity ![]() 31. i found that th pxls were somewhat disapearing, so i did another copy visible then did the filters>blur>pixelize at the same settings as earlier. then sharpened it. then using the erase tool, i erased all the pxls off the render ![]() 32. set this layers opacity to 15-20% which ever you prefer 33. next I added scanlines and set it to overlay 28% opacity then erased parts that didnt look too good. * a tutorial for scanlines can be found here by gimptalks getfirefox : viewtopic.php?f=14&t=9044&start=0 34. add some text now and your done! Great tutorial! Gives a great result, and really easy to follow! Here's my result, I think it turned out pretty well, considering I've only ever made a few things with the GIMP! ![]() I had real trouble fitting the C4D in a way that I liked, so if anything that's probably the bit I'm least happy about. Any suggestions on how I could perhaps improve the sig in any way? |
