Pardon the fact that the images aren't lined up down to the pixel. I forgot to align them. Everything was aligned by eye.

Anyway, enjoy! Like i said, I tried something new, and i'm actually pretty happy with the outcome, although i'll be trying new things with this style.

Cheers mates!

i tried the tut and didnt get a nice result, i dont like and am not very good at doing decent clip masking

trupac
i believe they mean create a new layer filled with the colour, change the mode in the layer dialogue to colour and then merge the layer down onto the duplicate line

i believe this section of the layer dialog is called the blending mode as with the brush and gradient tool options

First, copy visible. Then, you make a new layer, and use your brushes. Then go to layers, and right click the brush layer, and click alpha to selection. Now it should have selected around your brushes. Right click on one of them, and then click paste into. Move the layer around to have your selection show the part of the layer you want!

wow! you guys almost made me think you ripped my sig it was so close to mine.....lol!

some good stuff there! very nice job on following the tut guys! :l:

and yeah, i just make a new layer, brush on it. then i hit alpha to selection, then CTRL+I then CTRL+K, then right click and hit "float". guess there IS another way to do it. gets to be a little annoying after a while to have to hit all those buttons and clicks. *chuckles*

I had a go, but not too happy with the result

I probably should have used brighter colours for the lines, it's a good tutorial though.

Nice job! And it's good to see you put your own spin on it. It's good when you follow a tut to the T, but it's even better when you can take it and put in some of your own style.

Thanks for the comments!

Really nice. How do you make the paths like that? Sorry, I'm an experienced GIMP user, but I've never heard of that, nor 'clipping masks.'

Nice Outcome but I lost you at the 100px soft brush and aqua brush part.
I also couldn't get my flow lines to fade away at the tips of it.
